I am reposting this pic here especially for Vento9 and RallyMINI. I swear, its not mine, but it sure would be fun.

Kenchan.....my Neez are about 12/13 lbs each....but I still cannot find out the weight of my Hankook Ventus Sport tires. I know you are resourseful. Maybe you can find out for me. I would hate to have to pop a wheel and put on the bathroom scale.

OTOH, lets remember that lighter wheels have an advantage on road too. Better ride characterics through less unsprung weight as well as improved fuel economy, acceleration, braking and handllng. One assumes that these are attributes generally prized by the majority of MINI owners, so it pays to at least think these things through a bit, before buying on looks alone.

yah, you used your hamanns until you finally realized that the wheels are
too damn heavy for your stock brakes.
no offsense taken, or sensed.

berky- yeh, i use those 3pc 19's... they are heavy with the S03's
but the brembo's work just fine on that car and plenty of torque for my
weekend fun. its my touring car though...i don't go out street racing
with it. (or do i? )

i don't know how much Hanook's weight..but 12/13lbs for your wheel is
light weight. im guessing maybe 23lbs for your tires...(?)
if you're in the lower 30lbs total you're light weight. but 28lbs for the
wheel + tires (another 20-24lbs) is just too much for the tiny stock
brakes especially when you start adding a passenger on board...
but again, im not bashing the hamann wheels, just saying you need to
increase braking capacity....why degrade the performance of your car
while you mod? that's my point.
my current Comps + GS-D3's are about 33lbs. i know some using 15's
and coming in around 30lbs. need to decrease unsprung weight on
these cars if you don't plan on modding the brakes too much if at all.

Merry Christmas
Man, I go my parents for xmas and look at all of the excitement that I missed. You guys are arguing about big wheels without me?
Why degrade the performance of your vehicle while you mod? To look cool of course. For some this is more important.
Too bad santa didnt bring me any 22" spinners this year. The MINITOR would have been very happy.
