you might be able to fit a 3mm or 5mm range.

mine are +40 but with 7.5" wheels. this is about as far out as it goes
unless you want to add more camber.

gorgeous ....absolutely the exact wheel stance im looking for looks flush to me ...so i guess with my 40 offset ill be nice and flush(ishh) would 5mm spacers create rubbing.....i swear for the life of me i cannot grasp this offset and camber concept

17x7 rim with +40 offset and M7 Springs might be very close to rubbing depending on which tire you choose.

Don't get anything too wide or too tall. Stock tire diameter is 23.3" so try to be less than that and no wider than 215mm. 205/45-17 is stock so that is possible.

205/40-17 and 215/40-17 are smaller than stock tire diameter so they are OK but lower sidewall is harsher riding and more prone to damage if you hit potholes.

215/45-17 is taller than stock at 24.7" so with +40mm offset that is going to maybe rub when you have four people in the car or just one in the backseat or if you go over uneven roads with dips then you'll scrape the inner plastic liner in the back. Adding spacers will only push the wheels out to the plastic liner more. You want to get an offset that is more positive not less positive so something like +45mm would give more clearance.

+40 offset plus a 5 mm spacer will give +35 mm offset which makes the tire more to the outside of the car- not a problem with tires that are shorter than stock but big problem for those that are taller.

You didn't state the width of the tire you want to use, only that it was 45 series.

So no spacers.

the width of the same tires between 7" and 7.5" is pretty significant,
but im running 215/45/17's on 7.5" at 40mm.

205/45-17 is good. M7 spring drop is not that much so clearance should be OK as is, no spacers needed/required for fitment. No rubbing likely even with four people.

+40mm offset will put your wheel up to 8mm toward the outer side of the wheel well compared to stock so that would be sufficient.

Since no spacer is need I would have you try it out first then decide but I would not recommend spacers unless it is needed to avoid rubbing.

For general street use tires are better off being 45 series for comfort. After you see how everything fits for you, look for how the stock tires clearance looks before buying any tire larger than stock like 215/45-17.

Picture in Post #42 (Not sure how much camber is present, more negative camber gives more clearance).
