1st Set of Snow Tires
I'm going to be purchasing my first set of snow tires for my 2007 MC Cabio. We live in NE Ohio and get quite a bit of snow. It has the Sidewalk package which came with the 16 inch runflats. I know, many will say that I should dump the runflats, but I'm and "old goat" and don't want to worry about a flat with no spare. So, do any of you have experience with runflat snow tires. I was looking at an on-line source that was offering Continental Winter Contact, Dunlap SP Winter Sport, Goodyear Eagle Ultra Grip and Pirelli Winter 210 Sotiozero. Thoughts????
Also, a set of wheels seems to run from $400-$600. It seems like it would take quite a few tire changes before I'd spend that kind of money. Is that wrong-headed???
Thanks!!!!

Check the tire rack winter tire/wheel deals. To buy runflat tires and yet worry about the cost of wheels is illogical. If I were going to tolerate runflats at all I suppose it would be for winter tires . . . who wants to fix a frozen tire on the road? Nevertheless, I think waiting a short while for AAA is tolerable enough since I've had a road flat once every 40 years of driving.

Not exactly what you want to hear but here is what I did with my 07 MCS. I too live in NE Ohio. I bought 17" wheels from Tirerack mounted with All season Bridgestones. Non Run flats. I'll run these till late December. I also ordered a set of Dunlop winter tires 16" and mounted them on the stock wheels. I sold the runflats on ebay for what the winter tires cost. I also bought a Continental comfort kit and a Dynaplug tool to carry with me so I can do a repair if I have to. The ride is much better than the runflats even with the 17" wheels. FYI

What do you think of the Pirelli Winter 240 Snow Sports? Decent tires?
