I'm pretty sure that's why he said he had 2 days to decide I don't see how they're not losing money on this deal....seems too good

I just ordered wheels and tires today from Discount Tire Direct, what a deal, $380 less than getting them in the store! I called their Customer Service and they were very helpful. I expressed my concern about the 14mm lug issue and they checked the wheel specs fully to make sure they would fit the 07 MCS.

Dammit. The email from discount had the wrong number I was on hold so long that I missed Konig's closing time to special order the wheels. So if I want to get anything on this deal I will have to get the Drags, because konig isn't open until monday.

Their price cut is greater than the discount they're offering. You better believe they made a good amount of money thanks to the sales gimmick. It's all about volume in the car industry where the margin for profit isn't too great.

keep in mind $100 off $400 wheels is silly. $100 off $800 wheels....notsomuch. I'd bet a fair amount of the traffic was not the bottom basement stuff. I was happy to get a set on clearance....$85/ea -$100 = $240/shipped for 17x7.5" wheels that don't look bad

Yeah granted, but think about it this way. Such a big distributor and reseller of wheels as Discount Tire is (they are not only dealers for everything they sell but also distributors, as is Tire Rack), they are able to give 20-25% to wholesale customers and still make money, which means they probably get close to a 35-40% price cut. If you do the math, even on a set $85 wheels such as the ones you bought, they made a profit.

Also, think about how many more people will now look at Discount Tire thanks the marketing that this sale provided. I am in no way taking away from the great deal they put out, I myself was about to buy a set of Zeix 912's at a silly <$300 or so Shipped but I'm short on cash lol.

I just put gloss black DR-19's on my Jet Black MCS. Obviously too soon to tell about finish reliability but they look fantastic! Sorry no picture yet.
