OZ/Hamann Assembly

Anybody out there have any experience removing the centers on the 2 piece wheels? Bought a used set here in the NAM forums and 1 wheel of the 4 is new, colors are off. Would like to pull the centers and refinish. Any suggestions?

Hamann PG4's. Are the bolts right or left hand threaded? They seem to be a non-ferrous metal (Titanium???) I'd hate to break one or more off!

can't find a hi-res pic, but for the BBS I had, it was a 12pt 7mm socket. normal rh/tighten, lh/loosen threading. titanium is quite strong and resistant to breaking...it flexes before shearing. you'd be best off contacting Hamann to get specs to be sure. BBS told me 26 ft/lb for reassembly. The bolts will have loctite on them, so you need to be sure to break them properly to unscrew....quick jerking movement, not a constant force (that's what breaks bolts).

make sure they r 2piece, cuz they have a one piece wheel that looks like a modular wheel...teh boltz on those are fake. if ur wheels do come apart(outer lip from inner hoop) then u should replace all boltz for new ones...

Also, I think it would be wise to unmount the tires before you take the face of the wheel off.

You also need to make sure its the center that is removable.......2 piece doesnt necessarily mean that the center comes off........the lip could come off, or the barrel.

Contact Randy of M7.....he had his hamanns refinished
