Tirerack questions???
Hey everyone. I am looking for getting new wheels for my 2005 MCS and I think I have settled on a the 17x7 OZ Superleggera. I kind of want to buy a package deal throught tirerack but they don't offer Falken azenis which is my prefered tire. Does anyone know the most aggresive autoX/street tires offered on tirerack? Maybe the toyo tr1s?
Another wheel I was looking at is the 5zigen fno1r-c through edgeracing.com This site also won't offer falken azenis for this package. The most aggressive tire is the toyo tr1. Does anyone know how reliable the 5zigen wheels are? They are extremely light like 15lbs and decently priced compared to the OZ wheels.
If I really want the falken azenis should I just buy the rims and tires separately and have them mounted? Are toyo tr1's good tires for AutoX?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you are doing street touring (meaning street tires) then the new bridgestones re-01R are really good and available from tire rack.
If you want to save a bit of money but still get really good tires, the kumho ecsta MXs are great, and 215/45-17s are like $110 each.
Call Alex at the tire rack - he is great to work with.

For Tirerack-
In Extreme Performance summer tires:
Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R (comes in 205/45-17 amd 215/45-17) treadwear 180
Kumho Ecsta MX
BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KD
or
In Max Performance Summer tires
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx
or
In Ultra High Performance Summer tires
BF Goodrich T/A KDW2
Toyo, Falken and Hankook tires are not sold at Tirerack, try edgeracing.com
For autocross the Extreme Performance Summer tires are usually the best option. RE-01R is very good for that.

Re01 R's - agreed would be your best choice.
Superleggra III are still made,
Mini's only have Ultraleggera left to fit.
Let me know when your ready.

https://www.discounttiredirect.com carrys 5 zigen wheels and has the azenis and reasonable prices with free shipping. Personally I think there are many other good options from the azenis and wouldn't narrow yourself there. I ran the BFGoodrich KDWs this summer for 4 auto crosses and was pretty impressed. Currently the bridgestone RE-01Rs have taken azenis spot in most autoxers minds as the top street class tire. Don't know too much about the Toyo's really, but I have heard plenty of good things just not quite the hardcore autox tire like the azenis and RE-01R.
