brake pad question

Are mintex brake pads the same as oem.

I have always run the oem brake pads on my mini and have been very happy with them. I autocross and have always been told by other autocrossers with minis that oem are as good as anything else. I threw on some $20 O'reilly pads to keep from gouging the rotors and OH MY GOD DO THEY SUCK! ! ! !

My mini deserves more.

In need of an economical solution... $90 pads are not an option. I am also replacing both outer cv joints (am I the only one who has killed cv joints on a mini?) and the front lower control arm bushings (second time). Mini won't honor the waranty because I have koni yellows.

Mintex RedBox pads are fine for the street and autocross, IMHO. As far as I can tell, they're not quite the same as OEM.

Have you thought about a different option for the CA bushings? Are you talking about the 'lollipop' bushings at the rear of the control arms? If so, the Powerflex are a much better solution than the OEM rubber - or, the Alta PSRS if you want something even beefier.

Yes.

Powerflex... I see vendor under your name. Could I get them from you?
