R93 Rocket Spoke tires?
I am in need of new tires..... I have the R93 Rocket Spoke and would like to get new wheels but I jut don't have the funds. I was wondering what is the widest tire anyone has put on this is? and What is a recomeneded size is. The Stock tires are 175/65-15 and they just don't seem to be stickey enough for my spirited driving.
Any help is appreciated.

I'd first check with Alex our Tirerack sponsor...
Tire cross section (max width) is a function of tire construction and wheel width...
I'm *ASSUMING* that you have a 6" wide wheel...
so you might be able to stuff a 205/55R15 onto that rim... Your stock wheel has a rolling dia. of 23.96... you want to keep that as close a possible.
the 205s have a rolling dia. of 23.88 which is less than 1% or equal to running slightly deflated or worn tires...
Now for getting more stick, you might find going to a dedicated summer/winter tire and trading away the runflats will buy you more than going up in size... but then again, you might find that you cannot get performance tires in the OEM size...
Final piece of the puzzle... it might be cheaper for your to buy someone's take off 16" or 17" wheels with perf. tires installed and use your OEM wheels for winter tires...
(I bought 1-season used winter tires (Hakkas) and 17" wheels... used on this forum for $500. I then bought perf. summer tires for about the same, and they still need to be mounted.)
HTH!

I had the same wheels and wanted more width but didn't want to spend a lot of money. Some people said I could put wider tires on the R93 wheels but with the hard cornering that made me nervous about sidewall flex. So I bought a set of Konig Rewinds. They are 1.5 inches wider (15X7), look great and only cost $400 for the set. Just a thought....
