Wheel spacer questions

I have an R56 MCS and was just wondering if I were to get 5mm wheel spacers if I would need longer wheel bolts, or if the stock ones are long enough.......also, since it doesn't look like there's any out specifically for the R56, wouldn't ones for the R53 work fine?.....thanks ahead of time.

if you do any kind of aggressive driving you should use longer lug bolts
on 5mm.

as far as spacers go, you dont need one specifically made for any car
as long as it has an opening for 4x100. 5mm is thin enough that your
hub should be long enough to support your wheel when you are
mounting them onto your car.

a while ago i think piloracing had some longer lug bolts. they might
still have some.

Can you use R53 wheel bolts on R56s though, since longer ones aren't available for R56s yet?

Parts vendors and manufacturers usually list stock bolts as acceptable with 3mm spacers, and longer bolts recommended for 5mm spacers. If longer 14x1.25 bolts are not yet available, you could go to a stud conversion.

When I was researching either boring my wheels to 14mm openings or using the stud conversions, I was given this website which has R56 sized bolts in longer lengths. The stock length is 28mm, the next longer bolt available is 33mm. You also want to get the lug bolts with the 17mm head.

5mm isn't going to net you crap on street. you need to do minimum
10-15mm to notice a difference. better off getting better tires.

Along these same lines, are spacers only needed if you have a BKK or are looking for visual enhancement?
I'm looking to put 18 x 7.5 wheels on my 05 S, with an offset of +45. Right now the car is 100% stock (17 5 spokes on it). Besides lowering it , do I need to do any mods to make the wheels fit right?

Well, lowering it might actually cause problems! The 45 offset is good, like stock, but once you lower it, those 18s might just start rubbing on the fenders. Lots of threads about this already, btw.
