R81 tape weight balancing?

Hello,

Is it possible to have the R81 "Holey" rims balanced by using tape type weights or must you use the clip on style that clamps on to the lip?

Thanks,
Erik

I would think you could use the stick on weights but it would depend upon the competency of the shop doing the balancing and whether they have the stick on stuff.

Where I get my tires done the balancer has several weight options to serve the aftermarket wheels. My R90s have no place for outside weights because of the rim design....and I would not want them there. The balancer had the option for inside weights. I see no reason for not being able to use stick-on weights provided you have the clearance between the wheel and caliper for the thickness of the weights you are using.
