Wheel clearcoat or not?

Wheel clearcoat or not?
I have some Team Dynamic wheels which I have prepaired and painted duplicolor graphite. They look fantastic. Now should I put clearcoat on them or should I not put clearcoat on them to allow for easy touching up?
Will a couple good coats of duplicolor clear give extra protection to be worth the extra hassle of an entire respray if I need to touch up?
Thanks,
k

tuff question. on my duplicolor painted wheels with clear, i noticed that it's
pretty soft and gets indentations from debris pretty quickly. it doesn't
necessarily chip, but just marks.
i suppose (or just convinced myself ) that the clear provides
UV protection and will not discolor the basecoat as fast.

I read on the can to do it with in the hour of the color coat. So I decided to put it on. I am sure waiting 7 days to let the color coat fully cure and then do the clear would have been fine but its now done and looks great. I had two small areas where some how I got a drop of clear from build up on the nozzle and it looks like it dissolved the color coat a bit and made a fish eye. Can't always be perfect I guess.
