"S" valve caps

"S" valve caps
First post. LOVE this auto! When it's too cold to ride the BMW K12GT bike, the Mini S does real fine (but the GT, with 152 hp and weighing 622 lbs., is LOTS faster!)
I did a search on "valve caps", but couldn't find what I'm looking for. I have an '07 Mini S with direct TPMS and metal valve stems. I got a set of brass, chrome-plated "S"-logo valve caps for Christmas, direct from a Mini dealer. When I screw them onto the valve stem, they seem to bottom out "hard" on a small metal shoulder at the end of the valve stem threads. My thought: the rubber o-ring in the valve cap has not seated on the end of the valve stem.
Anyone else notice this? Should I go back to the plastic valve caps that came with the Mini? Tanks.

If I recall correctly from the presentation given by MINI USA at MOTD this year, you should not use the MINI metal valve stem caps on the newer tires, something to do with interfering with the new Flat monitoring system. Your dealer should have the specific (newer style plastic) caps for the newer run-flats.

I have the same S valve caps with rubber stems and have had only one problem with them.
When I came out of one of the local theme parks, I discovered that someone ELSE must have liked them as much as I did since I was missing both caps on one side of the car.
I really doubt that less than a complete set is available from the dealer.
If someone else may be in posession of 2 of them, I would be interested.
Other than that, there appears to be no problem using them with the rubber stems.
