Hawk ceramic pads

Does anyone know if these pads accept the sensor on the rears?
Where have you gotten the best price?
Thanks

Go them from Tirerack. Love em. On light colored wheels I can go a few weeks before brake dust is noticeable, vs 3-4 days with OEM. Got em at Tirerack. The rears don't except the sensor, or didn't at last check. I taped it off to the side. I check my car so much I'm not worried about losing that functionality.

I just ordered a rear set from here...
http://www.placeforbrakes.com/

... mine were only $74 and change. They just recently went up to $78.92, but it's free shipping on orders over $50. I don't think the TireRack has free shipping.

There was a small delay in shipping because they were shipped directly from Hawk, to Place For Brakes, then to me.
I was pleasantly surprised when I called to check on the order and the phone was answered by a human that spoke English. He explained the delay and the pads showed up two days later.

As mmatarella posted, the rears do not accept the pad sensor.

No sensors on the rears. Just use a zip tie & bundle it out of the way. I also did that with my front ones. Another nanny silenced on my car. I swap wheels off pretty often & always look at the brakes when I do.

You will love the Hawk ceramics. Brake dust just about gone. Until you hit the track.

Just wondering...with the sensor wire not connected, do you get a dash warning light?

No... well, yes, if the wire "weren't connected"... but that's not how it works...

The sensor is a wire embedded in a little block that "plugs" into the brake pad. When the pad wears down to the point that the sensor is exposed, it actually wears through the wire, breaking the circuit - and the light comes on. So what we're doing is tying up the wire with that sensor intact on the end. So the light never comes on...

No you will not.

If you have worn your brakes down far enough to trip the light you will need new sensors to get the light to turn off. If your sensors are good, bundling them out of the way will not cause a dash light.

You will not need new sensors to turn the light off. Just cut the sensor off, strip the two wires and twist them together or crimp on a connector to complete the circuit. Then reset the brake warning lamp, why spend the money for new sensors if your just going to leave them disconnected anyway.

Check with ToddTCE on Hawks pads.
He set me up with Hawk ceramics front and rear for way less than what others wanted.

TCE is a NAM participating vendor. They're on the vendors page, and the direct link is http://www.tceperformanceproducts.com

Contacted Hawk this morning and this is a quote from them: "We do make ceramic pads for the fronts (HB444Z.685) and rears(HB445Z.610). Our pads are made the the O.E. spec and are able to clip to the wear sensors"

I emailed Todd at TCE and I figured from your message that Todd would have Hawks, so I asked how much to ship of my area.
This is what is his response: " Not much. I don't offer and Hawk pads. Sorry.
TC"

New post to an old thread but I ordered Hawk Ceramic Pads front and rear from Tirerack. I installed them last night and I am happy to report there is a brake sensor slot on the rear pads. Happily I was able to reuse my sensors front and rear!

I also replaced my rotors with CryoStops front and rear.

Like some others have commented, the pads don't grab quite like stock even after bedding them in but they do seem to be grabbing better as I use them so I think they will be normal after some use.

The whole job took about 3 hours. Hardest part was compressing the rear pistons. I have the Harbour Freight Brake tool but even with that compressing the pistons was a pain. Next weekend I flush the fluid!

Cheers!
Mike

Have used the Hawks on my Miata and I am using Carbotech Bobcats on the Mini.

I prefer the Bobcats by a country mile and they connect to the OE wires front and rear. Ordered direct from Carbotech and had them in two days.

From what I've read for a street car it looks like Hawk is a good choice for low squeal, long life and little dust. I looked on the website and was thrown by the options. Which sizes are correct for an '06 MCS?
