Help! Like these rims...ok for me? Rota Torque 17s

I think I finally found a rim that will go great with the matte black.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=128134

A few questions as I'm a total n00b to the Mini's needs.

Anyone know of Rota? They make a good product? I DD my car and I'm in NY and at times NYC. Are they as strong as most other aftermarket rims out there? Anyone know what they weigh? Are they competitive in weight?

I see the width is 7.5. Can I put a 235 on them? I had read the other day someone discovered 235's will fit. They have a 45mm offset, 67mm hub bore. On that note I have the stock sport suspension and plan on going to a set of lowering springs at some point. I drive hard on the street and don't want any rubbing issues.

Thanks.

why not ask Mach V? He's got Rota RB in 17x7.5ET45 with 235/40/17's on his R56. Rota = a good quality budget wheel. There's better out there, but you'll pay for it. There 's a lot more that's not as good as Rota...no worries there

I just got my Rota Jmags. Like what PGT said they are a good wheel company at a good price. There are better wheels but again you will pay for it. For just around town and you want a different look they are great but if you are going to be getting on the track then you should look at some lighter wheels. Also the Honda guys have been running Rota's for awhile and i haven't heard anything bad about this wheel company. As far as fit and size pm Mach V.

That's not super-light, but it's not bad. It's far lighter than any factory-issue MINI 17" wheel.

Yes, you can. We run that size on our R56. 235/40R17.

There are lighter wheels out there, but even at 18lbs there is a noticeable difference from the factory wheels.

Is a 7.5 width the absolute narrowest size wheel you could fit a 235 on? I'm really liking the look of the 235/40/17.

Rotas are a very good wheel. Well balanced and very strong. These particular models are somewhat heavy. Their 'Sub Zeros' are about two pounds lighter.

Check my sig ....

What 235 tires do you run on the 7.5's? All the ones I'm looking at, Pilots and Eagle F1's, say 8.0 minimum.

edit...changed the sidewall to 45 and see that they will go 7.5
