I hate POTHOLES !!!!!

I wanted to ask what some of you think about repairing S-Lites? I hit a pothole the size of Montana a week or so ago, and they are repairing the damage. DeeDee says the structural integrity of the wheels is fine and the repairing company guarantees their work. I'm not totally sold. Any ideas, or horror stories about repaired wheels? thanx

I've seen a lot of repaired wheels that have run well afterwards, but at the same time, I've seen many poorly done ones that were difficult to balance afterwards. If the place is reputable and warranties their work I see no problem, although this would've been a great excuse to look for some aftermarket wheels.

Ive had several wheels repaired on my truck (20in Billet wheels) thanks to the great state of MA. This one shop has repaired 4 out of 5 rims for me at different times (the 5th had a 9 in. crack). Two of the wheels have been repaired couple of times. So, if you find a reputable repair shop, you should have no prob.

Okay, Thanks folks for the votes of confidence! I have the Mini wheel/tire insurance, so either way, they pay! Can't beat that. If there's one thing I don't like, its paying for insurance and not using it!

I've had aluminum wheels repaired from bikes and cars, and even magnesium wheels repaired from my Ducati...as long as they are being repaired by a reputable place, no worries! Some places actually true the wheels to a tighter tolerance than the factory did that made them in the first place!

Just posting a follow-up to this thread, also. The rims were repaired and Sgt Pepper drive just fine! The tyres were replaced under the additional warranty I purchased with the car. I was left with some minor expenses, alignment, etc. and I got a tort claim form from Dept of Trans. I'm sending them the bill for the remainder, so we'll see where that goes!
