How does the hyper black look on dark silver/black roof?
Can't decide if dark silver or hyper black would get the look im after.
I have R90 17" Factory MINI anthracite

The Hyper Black is very neutral, so it's going to look very good on almost any color. Gunmetal is an excellent match for Dark Silver as well, though.

just moved to area-need new wheels and tires--you sell tires also? i have a 2006 mini s convert red jcw--running 18s now-but with the road conditions around here thinking i need more rubber so can you give me your best year around tire suggestion-and do you have all the wheels you offer on a site somewhere i could see them? or manufacturer web site. lastly do you do a package price wheels tires install balance alignment? thanks

 

Yes.

I often run Sumitomo tires -- HTR Z-III in summer, HTR-4 in winter. 235/40R17 gives a good amount of sidewall and is nice and plump to protect your wheels.

Yes. we do packages for local customers, although we generally do not ship mounted wheels/tires.

Note that alignment is not required when you swap wheels and tires, although if you think yours is out of whack we're happy to align the car. Give us a call to talk about packages. There are too many variables to go over in this thread.

ok thanks will get in touch with you-the car i way out of alignment--or at least it always pulls to right--took it to dealer prior to moving to falls church--they said i had at least one bent rim-and very poor quality tires and they could not align the car---said to replace all. i wont drive the car much in winter-have another car-so likely looking for an all season suggestion. thanks and will look at your site for wheel alternatives

 

I have decided that I will be purchasing the 17 inch Rota RB's. I just can't decide on the color. Do the 17 inch RB's come in Hyper Black? Does anyone have a photo of a dark grey mini with the Silver RB's that they could post?

iv got Rota SDM on mine as there known as here or Rota GTLM as there sometimes known as 8x18 in gunmetal with 215x35x18 tyres

 

dan would you have the rota mc in black in stock and can i assume the tires your recommended would fit on these? lastly can i come in on a weekend and wait on the install--appointment needed i assume?

 

Yes, black Rota MC is in stock. I'd run a 225/35R18 on it.

With some advance notice, I can get a mechanic to come in on the weekend to do that. But you can't just drop in on a Saturday; you'll need an appointment. Give us a call to make some arrangements. (571) 434-8333.

ok thanks--last question-do they make the MC in 17s. with all the pot holes around here was thinking i need more rubber--but i have 215-35r18s on the car now--so the 225 would be a bit more rubber i assume? and could you drop me an email on a package price on these rims, tires, balance and i assume align? email is waltermb@yahoo.com

The other question I have is 205 45r17 or 215 45r17 tires. What are the pros and cons of each?

 

Correct me if I'm wrong (Dan) but I don't think they do. At the moment, they only come in 18x8. If your R53 is lowered, I'd go no wider than 215 -- but you could consider a higher profile like 205/40 or 215/40.

In the meantime, I'm sure you're tired of being asked, but: Dan, Any news on the availability of the MCs in Silver?!?

A 225/35R18 would probably fit.

Looking to run in STX for autocross in an '09 JCW. I am looking for 17x8 wheels. Do you have anything? If not, which 7.5s will fit over the JCW brakes. Obviously, the lighter the wheel, the better.

Rota lists a lot of 16 x 6.5 wheels that would appear to be legal in HS Solo2. Are any actually available?

7.5"-wide wheels are going to be lighter than 8" wheels. We can special-order the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 in 8", but I don't stock it. Rota doesn't make any 17x8 MINI-fit wheels.

Not at this time, and I don't imagine they will be. 16x7 is much more popular. But if you can get a half-dozen people together that will pay for them, I can get some made.
