BBS or Team Dynamics

Which one would you choose:

I have a choice of: "LIKE" New Team Dynamics Racing 1.2 Anthracite Gray 17x7 45mm W/O tires Excellent condition for $600
OR a set Of 17x7 BBS RD Wheels
-Bolt Pattern 4x100, Offset 38mm
( tires would need to be replaced soon) for $400.

Either way it looks like I will have to get new tires.

Thanks for your opinions & help.

QUESTIONS

1. is 45mm a simple bolt on or do I need Hubcentric Rings, and can I use the OEM lugnuts.

2. I know I need Hubcentric Rings for the BBS (included) same lugnut question.

3. Which size tires 205 45 17 OR 215 45 17 (stock cooper S)

4. Does tire Rack give NAM members a Discount ?

I'm liking the BBS's better appearance wise, although both look good and weight would play a big factor.

1. 45 MM is the offset.
2. Yes unless the hub is 56.1 MM
3. 205 45 17 is the stock cooper S size. But both 205 and 215 will fit on a 17" X 7" wheel and wont rub as long as you're at stock height.
4. No.

I have the Team Dynamics PR1s with 215/45R17s. I love the setup. No issues.

I'd be willing to bet that if you cruised through the 'show me your wheels' thread you'd find atleast twice as many TDR's as you would BBS. And if you're being model specific....I think you'll probably only find one or 2 BBS RD's in the entire wheel forum while you would find atleast 30 cars with the the tdr 1.2's.

And common wheels might not be an issues to some....I was just sharing my opinion as I know a few people take that into consideration when it comes to wheel shopping.

Rally - maybe in the MINI context TDRs are common, but I see a h3ll of a lot of BBS wheels out there. Seems like the default choice for people with $ who want to pimp out their "luxury performance" car. No other car in my work lot (shared with Tesla Motors) has TDRs, but there have to be a dozen with BBS. Juss sayin iz all.

BBS RD are low pressure cast wheels...you might want to consider some Centerline forged wheels that would weigh less and be stronger. If you look at their "sale" section some good bargains can be found.

Centerline does have some nice wheels minus everything is either chrome or polished. Granted, that's good street rod stuff but I prefer to keep the shiny things off of my car.
