195/60/15 Wheel & Tire Combo

Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position tires & O.Z. Ultraleggera Wheels from Tire Rack.

I'm getting my 2008 MCSm w/Sport Suspension in April 2008. This is what I would like to replace the RF's ASAP. Does this seem OK. I'm just looking for nice handling and comfort. I live in SE Florida.

That is a perfect tire size. It provides quick handling and has enough lateral grip for some fun. That size also allows the car to absorb bumps better. Plus, the width of the tire is proportional to the car, as well as the sidewall to rim ratio. Granted, I have an R53, but they should be equally suited for an R56.

I have the same Potenzas in that size on my justacooper. They ride very nicely. Someone else might want to chime in who knows for sure, but don't the larger front brakes on the R56 S interfere with some 15" wheels?

Silverfinn, I have 205/60r15 Potenza RE960as Pole Position tires on my 1999 Passat. This is a good all around street tire for dry and wet, I have some Blissaks for the winters in Ohio. I'm currently running 205/55r15 Potenza RE750 on my stock 2005 MC holies(rear sway bar, cat back and K&N panel filter). This combo rocks, tons of grip in dry for street and some mild track days. OK in the wet. No go in snow. When these wear out, I'm going to a 195/50r15 Potenza RE-01, actual tread width is wider than the RE750's and the tread compound/contruction is bordering on DOT R-compound slicks. Check them out if you are looking for extreme performance. Have fun, drive fast!

Tirerack has some great info on all these tires. Check out the specs and the customer's reviews.

Yes that size works ($74 each, 24.2" tire diam, 21 lbs) and in the same RE960AS using 15x7" wheels (including stock wheels)
You can also consider:
185/65-15 $74 fits rims 5-6.5" wide, perfect for 5.5" wide rim 24.4" tire diameter, 20 lbs each
205/60-15 $79 fits rims 5.5-7.5" wide, perfect for 6" wide rim 24.7" tire diameter, 23 lbs each

At tirerack if you enter 2008 MCS and search for winter wheels in 15" you find

O.Z. Ultraleggera in Matte Graphite Silver finish $176 each 15x7, +37mm offset 12 lbs each.

So this wheel should clear the stock R56 MCS front brake calipers.
