Configuration for 08 Tires
Hi , In the process of configuring a 08 Mini on Miniusa website.
Does anyone know if you select the Sports Package which gives you the 16" performance runflats , if you select the all season option, does this make the tires non run flats.
I am looking for a way to get the Sports Package with the 16 " rims with non -run flat tires.
If not can these 16" rims be mounted with non run flats at a later time and still be used on the mini.

Non Run-Flat Tire Availability on '08 MCs from Factory
I had the same question and checked the latest MC/MCS marketing brochure. Seems the 2008 MINI-Cooper can be ordered with either of two 15" rims (one standard and the other an optional extra), either of which wears 5.5 J 175/65 R 15 tires. I take "tires" to mean the "non run-flat" variety. OTOH, if you factory order the MINI Cooper S, you are limited to run-flats tire only, in either 16" or 17" size rims.
I've got a call into the local MINI-Center to see if this is a valid interpretation. Will update this should I be told differently. -- VIM
Update: Just received confirmation from the local MINI-Center: The factory-delivered MC does come standard with 15" non run-flats. However, the MCS comes ex-factory with run-flat tires only. - VIM
