16 inch track day tires: Sizing
I'm going to be getting some 16x7 wheels soon, and I'm wondering what tire sizes I should run. I'm thinking of running Toyo RA1s or R888s depending on price and availability.
I know the RA1s have limited sizes. I have found 205/55/16 would that be an ok size. Other than that, the next size seems to be a 225/50/16 and i'm not so sure if that would fit or not.
My car is lowered about an inch on H-sport springs, and I have a Madness rear sway bar.
recommendations please.
Thanks

Use 225/45-16 tires since tire diameter is 23.8" and smaller than stock for lowered gearing and better clearance. 21 lbs is light as well.
205/55-16 and 225/50-16 are both taller than stock at 24.7" and while they will fit they weigh more and give taller gearing.

R888 is OK. With 16x7 rims and one inch drop from H-sport springs-

ok, so the next thing it seems i need to take care of are the lug bolts for the car. I need to get tuner lug bolts to fit my new wheels.
I'm apparently on the border of the switch over from the 12mm to the 14mm. So I will be pulling a bolt out to measure.
It's looking like that the 12mm has a thread size of 1.50
While the 14mm have threads 1.25
Is this correct?
anyone know of a good place to get tuner lug bolts?

12x1.5
or
14x1.25
If you have 14mm bolts you can use conversion stud kit to bring it back to 12mm then use any aftermarket rim you want.
Careful with any open end tuner lug nut since corrosion can happen that will lock the nut to the stud- happens sometimes over about 1 year if not watching.

There are also other sources for light weight aluminum closed end nuts that will fit, 949racing.com and tirerack.com have them. Titanium nuts are super expensive but very light.
