Wheel weights...

I'm picking up my newly-powdercoated R84s today...woohoo!

I'll be taking the rubber & the wheels to a local shop sometime in the next few days, but I'd like to know what kind of wheel weights I should request.

I want the wheel weights on the inside...I hate the look of weights on the outside rim...and I was wondering if there's a benefit of one type of weight over another type?

Thanks!

Erika

PS: I'll be posting pics in my powdercoating thread, too!

i would expect the shop to use wheel weights which affix to the inside of the rim, and appear as one or more small rectangles (approx .5" square") with an adhesive backing

i would not expect the shop to use the older style weights which are elongated lozenges that clip to the external or internal lip of the rim itself

The .5" square weights...would those be called "sticky weights"?

The "elongated lozenges" description would be EXACTLY the way I'd describe the factory weights.

Thanks for the info!

Make sure you tell them to use the sticky weights on your wheels..

Wheel weights...

The factory weights on a R-84 (X-Lite) wheel are the sticky kind and installed on the inside of the wheel.

There are no lips on the wheel, like other OEM 15 and 16 inch wheels, to attach clip on style weights so that should not be a problem.

Hope this helps...
