how much does it weight?
i have the stock 16" rims and goodyear runflats on my 03MCS. I am looking at a set of forged 17"rims that weigh 17lbs each and want to change fom runflats to regular dunlop tires. does anyone know aprox how much, if any, weight will be saved by making the switch? If the weight difference isnt that much i may as well not spend the extra cash on the forged rims over regular ones.

A quick trip to the Tire Rack site shows:
SSR 17x7.5 ET 42, 14.5# $513 each
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand
BBS RGR 17x7 ET 38, 16.3# $610 each
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand
Both are low stock at tire rack now, would have to wait to get a full set of 4.

Oem 17" wheels vary from 21.9 to 25.1# according to this faq
http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...factory_wheels
Stock Goodyear runflats are 22#
Dunlop non-runflats are 20# in same size.
so
you'd save about 7.6# to 12.6# per wheel/tire depending on
which ones we're talking about compared to oem 17" wheels.
Comparing to the oem 16" wheels (17.5 to 21#) with 22-24# Goodyear runflats,
17" forged wheels with Dunlop non-runflats would be between 3 and 10.5# lighter per wheel/tire.
