*** CSL reps for MINI Coopers ***

I found this company that is willing to make CSL replicas to fit our mini coopers...

18x7.5
et 38 (i think we can get him to make whatever offset we want)
$699 for set of 4 wheels.

The catch is... he needs atleast 50 orders to custom make the size to fit our mini's...

How many of you guys/gals would be interested?

it would look something like this... but 4 lugs of course.

Those look really great and I would love to have them. I highly doubt you will get 50 people interested. He should make them anyway and just sell them on his site.

Could you give us an estimated weight and also wait time?

Thanks.

okay... questions to ask them are weight and wait time. I'll ask tomorrow.

The bigger question is ... do you guys think we can get 50 buyers?

Ideally, i'm hoping some company like tirerack will buy the rest and sell them on their website.

great price and a great looking wheel, but I think it's going to be pretty near impossible to get 50 people! I second the concave notion as well. I think that's what makes the wheel look so incredible on the M3

I bet you can garner up more interest at other mini forums and the bimmer forums. I'm sure E30 owners would love to get their hands on these rims Not sure about the offset though, but that's what spacers are for!

Also...it would be great if we can use our OEM TPMS on the rims.

Damn I hope these rims come to fruition!

Cool !

Nice effect with the Rims in focus !
to get the viewer to *Focus* on the wheels ... get it "Focus"
( just pulling your chain.. )
Their good looking wheels and at that price..

50 People is nearly impossible. I don't think this style is appealing to the honda/toyota/nissan/scion crowd either. It is european styling and the MINI and E30 are basically the only vehicles that might work with these wheels. The E30 M3 would not work due to incorrect offset though.

awesome wheel... too bad we can't do it with less people. Could he do 25 people if he increased the price to say 850-900 for a set?

would 18x8.5 be too wide in general? or is it dependent upon the offset?

Too wide IMO. Max I would go is 8" but I think 7.5" is perfect. I'm sure there are many Mini's here with lowered suspension and 8.5" is gonna be tough.

Im in for set of 18x7.5 You'll find that without a ridiculous offset (like 25) you'll get rubbing of suspension components with a 8 or 8.5 wide rim on an R53. I remember Randy Webb showing me where this occurs on the front and the rear. I had rub marks on my coilovers when running 7.5" rims with 45mm offset.
If the offset is too much (little number) you will then need to shave away the fender as it will rub if you have lowered the car... catch 22. Hence a 7.5" is really great width for an 18.
Anyway, you can count me toward the order.

I'm unclear if this new prospect is related to the original post.

Is the price for a set of 4 still expected to by $699? If not- what's the asking price?

While I'm leary enough about their potential quality not to buy them on my own, I found these on eBay for an absolute steal.

Did some quick reading on VSR wheels, and nobody's got anything bad to say- just a complete lack of anything good to say, either.
