New Wheels for AB/AB R56

Ok guys, I really need your opinions/thoughts here. I am planning on getting some new wheels for my AB/AB R56. I would really like to get black wheels, but not all of the wheels I am looking at are offered in this option. I have narrowed it down to three choices. Please let me know what you guys think and also what tires you recommend for a daily driver in sunny California. Thanks.

1. 5Zigen ZR+520 (18x7.5) in either hyper-gunmetal or bronze (what color do you guys think would look best with AB?) Will I need anything special to install these wheels?

2. Enkei RPM2 (18x7.5) in hyper-black. I know these are hard to find, but I believe vividracing.com still has them if their website is up to date. Do you think the hyper-black will look ok? Will I need anything special for these wheels?

3. Tenzo Type M (18x8) in black. Not sure if these will fit correctly since they are so wide. I was hoping to see these in a store, but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

I really appreciate your help guys. Just need to know if there is anything special I need for these wheels like spacers or special lugs? Thanks.

No room in this thread for "to each is own", or even "it depends" it looks like.

Not that there is anything wrong with "street fashion". But if you want to lay down the low lap times...

...I use race tires with race wheels, of course. I'm not laying down lap times on the street, hence the "street fashion" wheels.

The wheels on the black MCS above are now-discontinued ASA AR1 in 18x7.5 et38.

Of the three, I'd go for the Tenzo Type M. With the 8" wide on stock struts you'll want to do an offset of about 37mm to fit 'em in the wheel-wells. This means you'll need to get an 8mm spacer. By the looks of the wheels however, they'll need tuner bolts, which would be tough to find with the new 14x1.25mm bolts [damnit] A 215/45-17 tire would have a nice taught look.

That seems a little too radical to get an 8" wide weel and a 8mm spacer. That doesn't seem safe. I was trying to avoid using spacers.

They look good for street, see this posting #8 for a look on a nice MINI. See roofS sig. line for his offsets.

As some folks say, if your really going to autoX or race, consider 15s and 16s for the weight per corner and braking.

Myself, I'm good with a nice looking 17, I can appreciate a nice 18 on a tuned R56 with the proper lowering.

Apologies for not replying to your PM.

The 5Zigens will fit fine over stock brakes and I'm only running 5mm spacers up front to clear the APs. Mine are the hyper gunmetal in 18x7.5 purchased from RavSpec.com. Hope this helps.

Do you guys think that 18x7.5 will look good with Mach V lowering springs lowered about 1.25"? Do you think I could fit 215/40/18's? Thanks.

I'm running 225/35/18's on an R53. Mach V runs 235/4017 on their R56.....all depends on tire width and wheel offset

Well, I believe these wheels have an offset of 42mm. I was planning on getting 215/40/18 Falken Fk452's. How does that sound?

hmm...should be ok. that size is a almost a 1/2" taller than stock though it's not overly wide. take a look at how much clearance you have now with the stock setup. You'll be moving the outer edge of the tire 1/4" out and 1/4" from stock.
