Will I rub?

Dropped one inch on H&R, and going to run on the stock s-lites, thinking 215/45/17 or 215/40/17, any rubbing issues with the 45's? or would i just be better off with the 40's? Thanks guys.

well there you go! Easy enough on that then, did you have to use spacers or anything like that, also are you running those on the s-lites? Im guessing not.

If anyone else thinks i may or may not rub please chime in.

I installed M7 springs on my 03 MCS and rubbed with 215/45/17's. The M7's drop around 1.3 inches, so you might be ok by only dropping 1 inch. I went with 40's and all is well

different rim backspacing would also effect tire rub as well.
unfortunately i do not know my back spacing. my tires are 8.8 wide front and rear though

I forgot to mention that once you lower you need to adj. the rear camber, the front should be ok. I installed rear control arms. Also, what width are your rims?

mine has the rear as well.
i dont know how much camber and caster was done to aceive the fit, but I dont have any unusual tire wear.
i do notice that if you dont rotate often, the fronts burn up fast though

Morning all.Had Danny at Minicorsa install H&R greens along with IE fixed
camber plates along with a alta 22mm bar out back. removed a lot of the
wheel gap no rubbing also added Megan control arms to bring the camber back. made a great handling car even better tire size
i'm running are 215-45-17 dunlops.

Once you drop your suspension you're likely to get more rear negative camber. As long as the ride quality isn't bad for street use you'll be fine.

If you ride is very rough and harsh then you may need to add or adjust rear camber to allow for a smoother ride (less negative camber). To adjust camber you need lower rear control arms- just a pair.

Tires can be either 215/45-17 or 205/45-17 and should be OK.
215/40-17 will also fit but they are smaller than stock diameter and would increase wheel gap and allow for a rougher street ride although handling would be a bit better. Cost is usually higher with 215/40-17 and tire selection is more performance oriented.

Usually it is a good idea to get an alignment after installing lowering springs just to make sure you toe settings front and rear and equal. Front camber cannot be adjusted without adding front camber plates- usually expensive.

Oh yeah i have had an alignment, and it does have the rear control arms front bar all that jazz, and they would be going on the stock 17 slites. just wanted to make sure that wouldnt rub, i want to get the 215/45's, i think that tire size has more options and is a little cheaper, am i correct in that assumption. i would be just fine with the 40s too so basicly what ever you guys say ill do. (within reason hehe)
