When I ordered my '04 CR/W MC, I ordered the 8-spoke 15" wheels. Now I'm kinda second-guessing myself. Should I change my order to the 5-spoke 16"ers with run-flats, or do I keep the 15's and buy a set of 16" Panasports with tires and keep the 15's for winter use?

I only regret "upgrading" to the 16s because I decided to replace them after 500 miles. In fact, if I'd have known ahead of time that I'd go mod crazy shortly after taking delivery I would have bought a stripper and saved the dough for later. As it is, I'm paying to modify optional extras I paid extra for....just food for thought.

If you want opinions, here's mine....go with the 15s and start the hunt for those Panasports.

I have the standard 15" tyres, and kept up with 12 MCS's with 17" tyres around some very tight twisties this past weekend. I hung in there, but I think my narrower tyres were making more noise than theirs were. I've considered going with either a slightly wider 15" tyre on the stock rims, or up to a 16x7 panasport rim with, of course, much wider tyres. I heard that a with a wider/lower profile tyre, that steering is not as responsive. Is this true?

I would say often times the short sidewalls, and wider contact patches involved tend to favor better steering and cornering responce, and firmer rides.

Check this thread https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...c=14599&12

There's comments near the bottom about the steering response being slower with wider tyres....

if I may theorize.

It takes less input to get responce on narrower tires.

good one alex...

I always look back to the 74 Nova Custom Hot Rod I had when I was a Kid...

It had narrow drag racing tires up front and big ole fatties in the back and it was an ease to turn, especially in an emergency.... WHOOOOSH!

But those were RWD....
I don't know the actual dynamics applied in FWD
