Team Dynamics Wheels

I want to replace my stock MCS wheels with a set of 18" (7.5" wide) Team Dynamic Pro 1.2 wheels (flat black). They seem to be the only alternative to the JCW 18" black wheel (a LOT cheaper). A couple of questions though:

1) They seem to be made for "track" use. Any problem using them for the street?

2) They seem to come only in a 30 or 32 offset. I think the MCS needs about 42 for this size. Any thoughts?

Thanks...

1 - normally for TireRack it means agressive applications that enhance track use and may require some mods to fit appropriatley - no problem using on the street - but I can't speak for this exact wheel.

2 - 30-32 are agressive for Mini, complications are based on tire size. Those "sound" like Miata wheels. 37-45 is ideal for Mini.

They should be fine for the street, But for any light weight wheel, just watch out for pot holes.

This from the outmotoring site. It seems like they have more offset options than you think, just nothing listed as a 7.5" width.

8.0 x 18 from 19.8lbs e+11/15/20/25/30/35/40/45/50
9.0 x 18 from 24.2lbs e+15/20/25/30/35

Such a large offset (a small number meaning they stick out more) could be required if the rim is really 8" wide. I've seen tires touch suspension parts on the Mini if the wheel is too wide and the et is closer to stock (45). I run an effective et of 37 with my 18x7.5 wheels. Everything is very close (including the 2mm gap to the brake calipers ).

great wheels. I would recommend dealing with Aaron at outmotoring for the correct size and fitment. I have used them on my car for street use. No problems on strength to deal with pot holes in Denver. Great improvement over the slites.

Great to hear, Chilimac. What size wheels did you go with (Diameter, width, offset)? What tire size did you install?

I have these wheels and bought the suggested size which was 17"x 7" wheel w/ a 45mm offset. I put 225/45/17 tires on and love it, It looks great. I bought them from outmotoring. It seems like they are the only one that carry that size on the internet. Also it took about 5 weeks to get them.

Your signature says 215/45/17 tires. Which?

Now that I understand that the 1.2 in the 18" diameter size only comes in an 8" width, I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board. 8" is too wide and will rub.

Any ideas for an 18" wheel in flat black that looks like the JCW?
