Anybody else HATE buying wheels?

I've having one hell of a time buying wheels!

My OEM 15's have 30k miles on them and the tires are bald. Obviously a great time for upgrade..
BUT, I've probably looked at 100+ wheels and still haven't found one I've liked enough to settle on.

(tongue in cheek) Anybody want to borrow my Visa and order for me?

Sure. I can add to my 6 sets of wheels at home.

Don't be in a rush. Check out all the vendors on NAM- quite a few have wheels.

IF none look just right then you can keep the stock 15" wheels and just change tires while you wait.

205/55-15
or
195/60-15
are workable sizes.

If you limit yourself to one diameter size then choices could be limited.

If you open it up to any size from 15 to 18" then you have many choices.

My daily street wheels? OEM 15" wheels and Stock All Season tires.

Too many choices, not enough money.

I've looked at web sites and saw wheels that I thought really looked good. But, when I saw them mounted and put on a car, they didn't look good at all. So, for me, buying wheels is kind of like a shot in the dark.

Did you try tirerack.com. You can see the wheels on your exact car (including color).

I always stayed with the factory wheels as there are quite a few to chose from and you'll already know how they're gonna look.
Here's a list:http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...factory_wheels

I can give you some ideas. I see you have a cooper. I don't know which wheels you have but at the most your current wheels weigh 15.7 lbs. each. Look for a wheel that weigh no more than this. Why put on a heavier wheel than what you have now? You would only be degrading your performance. Light wheels on a cooper really make a difference.

15.7lb is a pretty light wheel. Unfortunately (in that aspect), I want to step up to 17's.

Trying to pick up some S-Heavies until I find something I really like. Tire are needed now, might as well get 17's and find a wheel to settle on later.

The Show Me Your Wheels thread is a great place to see wheels on the car. Also check out the Garage that many members have created for ideas.

Me, I like shopping for wheels, but then again I am a wheel ***** and can usually picture in my minds eye how it going to look.

I always look at the Tire Rack site before I start shopping for wheels, but they don't always have what I'm looking for.

You can also try discounttire.com as well.

At least you can narrow down what you like and do not like in terms of styles, colors etc. It is a good starting point.

I live in Ajax, Ontario CANADA, not far from Toronto.
I am currently in the market for some new rims. Looking to upgrade from my 16's to 17s, then use my stock 16s for the winter.
Has anyone come across good deals in Canada, or at least border cities (ie buffalo or detroit) for rims? Very rarely can you find a good deal in Canada for just about anything.

I live near Ottawa, and I've ordered my Enkei's from www.tirerack.com. Even though they are in the USA, there are no surprises because they include customs brokerage fees in the shipping costs with UPS. About 100$ to ship. The only problem is UPS... lol They managed to send box 2 of 2 in British-Columbia... so I only received two wheels so far. The other two should arrive some day I guess. TireRack has been very helpful troughout this ordeal. They are following-up with UPS and keeping me up-to-date so far. Prices are unbeatable on many wheels.

The other two I know in Canada are www.tiretrends.com and www.1010tires.com.
