BRG caliper paint

Hi. First post but I've been lurking for a bit and seems like a really good group!

Just got a new Cooper, primarily for the wife - but I'm loving it as well. I want to paint the calipers and I've read the many posts I found here.

The car is british racing green and I don't think there's a good contrasting color that my wife would like. She thinks painting the calipers is a dumb idea but she'll come around once I'm done. So, I was thinking that I would match the caliper to the body color.

I was leaning towards the G2 kit because of the hardener, but the pic I found of the green isn't as close to the body color as I'd like. I also read good things about Japlac (or something like that) enamel. and they list the color BRG, but I couldn't find a US vendor.

Anyone know of a caliper paint kit that will match BRG?

Thanks! Mark

You're going to have a HARD time getting something close enough that you're happy, in a pre-mixed "caliper" paint... but an automotive paint shop should be able to mix some high-temp engine/caliper paint for you in real MINI BRG if that's what you want.

IMHO, G2 Gold would look fantastic on a BRG car..

+1 on the gold!!

I used Duplicolor caliper paint. Held up beautifully now for about 2+ years, and it was about 15 bux for the kit.

Gold may be my best option and I agree it would look good with the BRG. Thanks for the suggestion!

Anyone know if I can find the Japlac enamel in the US?

Now for something completely different ... BRG with orange calipers. I mixed G2 orange and yellow (1 to 1 ratio). It's another option. If you mix, be sure to use the right ratio of hardener.

G2 will also do a custom color match if it is that important to you. Check the website.
