brembo BBK fronts-- what to use on back?

hey guys,

i just installed brembo BBK in the fronts, but brembo's doesn't make any rear kit...what would you suggest to use on rears..(replace rotors-upgrade-to brembo) or keep it stock and just paint the calipers.

has anyone have this set up please post pictures.

here is mine..

The MINI rear brakes do very little work... the vast majority of folks with front BBK's retain the OEM rear brakes. Painting works.

There are a couple of other options... TCE sells a Wilwood rear kit, as well as larger rotors and caliper relocation brackets to work with the OEM calipers...

2 different brake systems... brembo in front and wildwood in the back..don't know if that will look good.

I think i will take your advise and install brembo upgrades same size oem drilled in the back and paint the oem caliper same color and call it the day!!

hopefully brembo will start making the back kit soon....

You could always try putting your stock front brakes in the rear. Might take some custom work but they would be a big upgrade.

The TCE/Wilwood "Rear Plus 1" option adds larger rotors and relocates the stock caliper. You can paint the stock caliper to match the color of the Brembo fronts. The advantage is you get a larger rotor for a little better brake torque and it looks better with the larger front rotor.

call me crazy.. but i thought of getting the TCE rear caliper kit.. and somehow "shave" the wilwood logo off.. and just leave it the same color as my front stoptec.. at least u hv a bigger caliper at the rear to look at~

just my take on it~

+1

Only upgrade the rear brakes for looks. I've found it totally unnecessary. TSW rotors and EBC Yellows will get you at least 8 track events.

I could help with any combo of the above.

You want a rear rotor, drilled only on a black hat; can do. We'd do my 11.75 kit without the gas slots. Bolts would be a tad different is all.

Wilwood parking brake caliper on that rotor, without the logo? Can do that too.

Whatever works for you.

BBS ONLY on the front will be un ballanced if you actually user the brakes !!!

The TCE wilwood with big rotors and EBC pads work GREAT on the track ...if you know how they react ... OK on an Auto X ...

Or if you are for looks only the TCE is avaliable seperate and Caliper paint will finish the job

todd,

will the rotors be the same size, drilled and thickness of the front ones? basically exact match!!!
can you paint the caliper to match my fronts (lamborghini orange)?

everyone talks also about balance, will that be an issue? or just a myth. What difference will it make compared to stock?

do you have any pictures?

The rotors will be 11.75 x .375" thick. Same as stock rears. Yes I can do wider if so requested buy why? **on the complete p-brake kit only.

Drilled only is an option or you can do the drilled/slotted set up if you wish. Drilled only orders will take a few weeks. I need to weld up the slots...just kidding.

Orange or any color can be had on the p-brake caliper by special order.

Can't really say what the brake balance will be. You'll need to give me the spec of the Brembos. Rotor OD and piston size. That's the ONLY way you can review this info, not with any "I read, heard, it should be, I think, etc" that you'll hear from any others. Hard data only my friend.

Nice info but it doesn't say anything about piston size. That's just rotor size.

This is ok if it for cosmetics. I would not put a cover on if you are very aggressive with the brakes, even if it is the rears. It could trap too much heat, increasing the probability of boiling the fluid.
