Which of the 3 cheepo brake rotors? Never heard of them...
I'm going to get my rotors and pads changed this weekend. I already have EBC green stuff and a new sensor in hand. I had decided to just buy rotors and some ATE super blue brake fluid at my local auto centers instead of buying expensive, drilled, slotted rotors. I was told their all about the same thing since I don't auto cross. I came upon 3 rotors at my local autozone and advance auto parts. The three I found were duralast, wearever and raybestos. I've never heard of any of these brands before (cept duralast) therefore I don't know about the quality or reliability. Anyone care to shine some light on which ones I should buy? Their all about the same prices.

Duralast is autozone's house brand, everwear is AAP's house brand, and Raybestos is a brand name I suppose, but they usually have another name in the description somewhere of who actually made them.
How much are they charging you for these? Because tirerack.com has Cryo-stop rotors for 48 each for the front and 39 each for the rear. I was going to try these next time I need to buy rotors, as they have a coating on them so they don't turn "rust colored" in a couple of days and supposedly cryogenically treated rotors last a lot longer.

So instead of purchasing the kits (which are only the fronts, I believe) would it be just as beneficial building my own kit for all four corners?
I love the look of Big Brake Kits, but doing just the fronts would make the rear brakes looks positively TINY (they already do!) It is mostly an aesthetic thing, since I got 17" wheels, and I love the look of brakes that fill the wheel.

that that beneficial to put huge brakes on the rears. majority of the stopping power relies on the front brakes. you can always get the jcw brake kit aka r56 brakes, you can piece together a kit that will cost less than the $1000 aftermarket bbk kit
as for the rotors, go cheap. or get tireracks...rust is ugly. I have drilled and slotted rotors and im about to throw them off a bridge.

I've only bought raybestos once and they had a short lifespan due to a frozen caliper cooking one of them alive. Personally though, I would lean towards them rather than the store brands... however they could even be made by the same company. They'll all rust because none of them have any coating... but that's purely cosmetic.

Corvette ZR1
I understand our cars will never be ZR1s, but man, I couldn't imagine having a Big Brake Kit on the front and the stock brakes on the back.... it would start looking comical.
