Im a little weiry of parking my mini without any locks on the R90's.
are you guys using the dealer one? I checked tirerack.com, but
they do not list any locks for the mini nor does mcgard.com

i know people can break those locks if they really wanted to...
do you guys think its necessary? what do you use?

I got my wheel locks from the dealership. If you want to be extra careful then install two different sets.
Just don't loose the two keys! As a BMW car club of america member I can get a 15% discount on the locks from the parts dept.

I got my locks from the dealership as well. They work well, the locking bolt does not quite match the remaining three, but that's not an issue for me. You can pick them up from the dealer or from one of the online dealers like Classic for a bit less.

As minihune stated, dont lose the keys! Make sure to stash one somewhere inside your car as only a spare. It would not be impossible to remove the locking bolts without the key, but if you lose the key you have to have all 4 bolts removed (most likely destroying them in the process) and a new set put on.

The lug wrench adaptor has a number on it - the dealer supplied bolts are available in about 20 differing patters so if someone really wants to go around stealing MINI wheels, they just need to have 20 different adaptors in their pocket ... it's a deterent at best ( but not a bad one ...).

And thats exactly what I handle. I don't sell locks for ANY wheel I don't handle, therefore I don't have a part # to provide.

You can call Mcguard - they may pride a part number, if I stock it
(I allmost allways do) then I can get you a set.

McGuard - 800-669-6887

let me know

Alex
