Recommend me a set of 215/35 R18 tires!
Hey,
I will eventually be getting myself a set of 18" OZ Ultraleggera wheels and wanted some recommendations on what tires that I should get??
I was looking at a set of Pirelli P-Zero Nero's. But they are quite expensive and was thinking that maybe there is something as good for less??
Things to consider when recommending:
- Size: 215/35 R18
- Something grippy in wet/dry conditions
- For Australian weather
- NO Runflats
Also, I was thinking of buying the Tires and Wheels together from Tire Rack.
But, will tires from the US be OK for Australia??
Thanks in advance!!

I don't see why they wouldn't be ok. I ordered my wheels and tires from Tire Rack for use here in Kuwait. The majority of US tire companies(BFG, Michelin, etc...produce the tires all on the same standard simpley because no matter where you are in the world, there is somewhere in the US with the exact same weather conditions...if its safe to use in the States I can't see why it wouldn't be safe down under
I recommend BFG G-Force SS. That's what I bought 2 1/2 months ago and I'm happy with them. Comfortable, WAAAYYYY less road noise than stock RF. And the best part is I got 5 tires shipped for $524

I went with the Toyo T1R in 215/40 R18 but they also come in 215/35 R18. I went with the Toyo T1R over the Pirelli PZero because the Toyo had higher UTOG rating (better wear) and were less expensive but were rated comparible for handling. I very much like the Toyo T1R.
However, I do not believe that Tire Rack carries Toyo tires. They were available from Edge Racing in wheel & tire bundles but I do not currently see them available in 18" on their website (might just be out of stock).

I've been running the PZero Nero "M&S" in a 215/35/18. They've had great tread wear and have been very quite over the last three years. My only complaint has been that here in So Cal we have grooves in some of our freeways and the tires tend to trammel on that type of surface. I suppose any tire with the similar tread pattern will do the same. Although the Pirelli's have been a long lasting tire, it's my plan to replace them with a tire that I use on my second set of (16 inch) wheels. Nitto "Neo Gen" ! Can't say enough good things about this tire, sticky in dry, great in rain, quite, inexpensive ! Not sold by tire rack but, I would suggest you give them a look !
