Wow do the 912's suck a$$ for an all season tire. We had that huge snow in the midwest and got about 1 foot of snow. I drove our jeep several days after but my wife needed it after that. I shoveled the gravel driveway best I could leaving probably 2-3 inches of packed snow down. We have a very small and short hill into the driveway. I could not make it up that even with a moving start. I had to eventually back up really far (100+ feet) and make a run at it because I could not even get enough traction to obtain enough momentum for making it up the 10 feet of shallow hill.
Before these I had continental extreme contacts and I thought those were just okay in the snow. The Conti's are a snow tire compared to these crappy falkens. They are okay in the summer and suck in the winter. I am glad this will be my last season of mini driving in the winter as we will have a 3rd car next year.

Yeah, Scott, I really like the 912's in most conditions. Quiet, good grip on wet/dry roads, and seem to be wearing pretty well (albeit after only about 7,000 miles).
But I bought them only for our MCSC because it is only a weekend driver and we knew we wouldn't be driving it in the snow/ice.
Should be a fine choice for you.

If I have to get another set of all seasons I will be looking else where. I doubt however that I will be getting another set of all seasons. The mini will be a 3rd car soon and will never go out in snow again after that. Probably hardly even in the rain as its so easy to keep a perfectly detailed car that way.

I just replaced my track worn Ecsta ASXs with some of those new Goodyear Eagle GT all-seasons and I'm very pleased with them.
The very next day drove from Richmond up to Detroit during one of the worst snow storms they had in a while. I did occasionally have to turn off the DSC to get moving from a standstill, but once I was moving I had absolutely no problems with traction. Made me feel pretty good for a guy who has almost no experience driving in the snow after seeing all the cars on the side of the road from spinouts and wrecks.
