R98 reassembly
So I'm getting my R98 webbed spokes back from the powdercoater's today. I called this morning and he made mention on how it'll be difficult for me to reassemble them. The sandblasting should have removed quite a bit(in fact the powdercoater said that it was powdercoated and clear coated as stock wheels) and the powdercoating plus clear coat would have added it back on.
So are there any tricks to this(without damaging the fresh wheels)? I am assuming I need to ream the holes so that the bolts can fit, but other than that? Someone suggested using C clamps around the wheel(while placing a towel in between the clamp and wheel to prevent scratches) and just slowly clamping it down. Not sure how that'll work. I'm thinking I should just leave the inside center in the cold while heating up the outside with the heat gun. Once expanded and contracted, I could just pop it right in. Any ideas?
