Exploding Dunlops
WOOHOO!
Was getting on the freeway after driving my car for only 15,000 miles and my tire explodes! YAY. I didn't run anything over because I was going so slow, and there's a massive hole in my tire now.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, what do you all recommend as the best 17" tire, run flat or not (the stupid sensor system didn't even alert me my tire exploded... what good is that?) to buy for my poor car.
I'm already getting frustrated with my car with the windshield replacements, tire replacements and lack of help from dealers. For what it's worth, I probably could've bought a Ferrari at what I've spent! Let me know any good tips and if you live near Santa Clarita, California, what shop to go to that I can trust.

Sorry to hear of your blowout, but consider it a sign to move away from runflats : ) I had a flat 1000 miles into my new MCS, and they said since I drove on the runflat 5 miles to get to the tire shop, the sidewalls were damaged! ![LOL](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif)
I ditched the runflats and went to BFGoodrich G-Force Sports 17s, stock size. Great handling tire. I also bought a small compressor and patch kit for fixups. On longer trips where service can be an issue, I bought a spare 17" tire so I can toss it in the back for peace of mind.
Here in Phoenix, there's always construction debris on the road. So far, the G Force has been a trooper in seasonal rain and especially dry weather. Where you are in Santa Clarita, look for a Discount Tire shop, or see if TireRack.com has a local provider who can do the install.
Good luck!
