I think I've seen reference to this before but I'm not sure. If one wants a smoother riding tire, can non-run flat tires be mounted on the same MINI wheels that originally came with run flats mounted ? Or does one have to buy a new set of wheels to mount regular tires ?

 

You can put non-runflats on the OEM runflat wheels. I had it done. Kuhmo ECSTA V700 on my OEM 16" rims. One of my runflats found a couple nails in the sidewall and I didn't want to take my Azenis off the Enkei's and put them on the OEMs. So new race tires on the heavy rims...whynot...

there is nothing special about the stock wheels. regular tires fit just fine.

 

Oh, I should have mentioned. If you do have them done, you want to find someone who has done runflats before. They are a PAIN-IN-THE-BUTT to change out. Don't spend more than around $15 per wheel.

Yep, pulled off my runflats and went with Yokohama's. The Yoko's ride good and now my fillings don't fall out when I drive on rough roads!!
