Replacing tires on a leased car
#26
I have tires ordered (kumoh's I think?) because I needed to replace my two front ones on my leased 2011 cooper. The lease is up in November of this year. My question is whether or not I need to have the same brand of tires as originally on the car. I know I need to read my lease but I don't have it accessible at the moment. And the miniusa.com lease return info about the tires doesn't say anything about what brand they need to be, only how much tread is left. I'd call the dealer but they're currently closed and I need to know whether or not I need to change the brand of the tires I orderd. Any info is appreciated!

since this question is asked every couple of weeks, i asked at the dealer a week ago when i was there to see the paceman
per my dealer, if the car was delivered to you with runflats, it must be turned in with runflats
there is also a minimum tread depth that must be met
if either of those requirements is not met, you will be charged for new tires AT THE DEALER RATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my suggestion would be to remove the OEM tires and store them until the lease is up and buy new tires of whatever type you want to use while you have the car
