Opinions on Rota Wheels
just wanted to get your opinions on Rota Wheels. I am looking at the Rota Battle and see that they have it for 4 x100, 42mm fitment 17 x 7.5. Just wanted to get the opinions of the people that have been running Rota wheels for a while. Are they comparable to say like Konigs? better or worse? by the way, it's for an R56 S hardtop
oh here's a link

It depends upon what you want them for.
Rotas are copies of other companies wheel designs - at least most of them are. If you are into the "show" side of car life, avoid Rotas as replica wheels are a no-no in the "show" world.
I have Rotas for my track wheels. They're light, cheap, and wide (I have 15x7.5 slipstreams). I don't care that they're a knock-off of a Spoon (Honda tuner) wheel.
They are not the strongest wheels in the world, and the paint on them is pretty easily chipped. Again, for my track wheels, I don't care.

I've had Rota RB and Slipstream 16x7 wheels. The RBs got damaged in an accident. I decided to replace them with Slipstreams because the Slipstreams are lighter weight and easier to clean. I haven't had any problems with them, but I only have 10,000 miles on the car that has been split between three sets of wheels.

I have a set of rota slipstreams in 16x6.5. here's a generic review:
Positives:
#1. Availability and fitment- they have a wide selection of wheels and sizes, plus they are one of the few wheels manufacturers with a 56.1mm hub bore (OEM fitment).
#2. Cost - cheap ($500 for mine)... compared to everything else out there... 'nuff siad!
#3. Strength and weight - I'm not sure about Rota's other offerings, but the Slipstreams are pretty damn durable and pretty damn lightweight to boot (compared to OEM of course). I drive over potholes and railroad tracks all the time without a dent in them yet (central Ohio roads are comparable to Baghdad in some places)
Negatives:
#1. Finish - paint quality is definitely worse than say Konig or Motegi. My Slipstreams are painted white, and the face of the wheels has a bright, smooth finish, but on the inside of the rim itself, it looks like a rough, half-assed paint job... ah well, it'll be covered with brake dust anyways
#2. Brag factor - they're not forged, they're not rare, they are replicas/knock-offs (the original Spoon wheels they're based off of, cost well over a $1000 a set). Ah well, my car ain't cool no more
