Sportstop rotors, are they Stoptech?

i bought a set of rear rotors from a vendor on NAM, and they are stoptech sportstop rotors.

so my question is, are they actually by stoptech? cause the packaging has nothing to do with stoptech? are they a branded product or some sort?

thanks guys!

They look like PowerSlots. Stoptech rotors look like this, I think.

even the rotor surface is totally different, so i guess i got screwed over?
what do u guys recommend me to do next other than just sending them an email? which i did already and waiting for a reply.

i'm just afraid they are going to say this is what i paid for, but they clearly misrepresented the item. and they are also a NAM vendor which kinda **** me off abit more!

Well, I wouldnt say you got screwed over. Powrslot rotors are quite good, and the difference from one rotor to another is so small it is basically irrelevant. Interestingly enough, the StopTeshs in the pictures above are more than likely just a slotted version of my $30 a corner Centric rotors.

Tell us who the vendor was, putting it out in the open will surely get their attention.

i'm not too sure if telling the vendor's name will be a good idea, as i don't want to judge or ruin the reputation by saying things that im not 100% sure on.

but they did reply me telling me that powerslot is all there are right now, this is what everyone will get.

does that sound reasonable to you guys? cause i'm still kinda dissatisfy for the fact i bought stoptech thats not actual stoptechs.

You're being confused.

Centric is the parent company of both PowerSlot and Stoptech.

In this case it's the same rotor from either supplier. (and probably some others not flying a big name as Centric is a larger importer of rotors to various brand names)

From what my very knowledgeable parts guy told me that (i forget which way he told me) but powerslot just bought stoptech, or vice versa like within this past month.

That's the news I heard.

Actually....Centric bought ST about three years ago and acquired PS about a year ago. Centric was (and now remains) the supplier of oe rotors to both companies in the past but had no American presence until now.

If you dig through the parent company press releases you can find the exact dates on all of it.

yea, indeed centric bought both stoptech and powerslot

probably the same rotors, but different finish and branding. still different, u won't see megan coilovers label as Ksport (i think they are the same) because their parent company is BC coils? right?

I had the same question myself and was confused. Did the same as you JerJer and emailed the vendor. Their email response below:

The reason I asked was because I already had Stoptech ShortStop rotors out back. Thus I wanted matching rotors up front and was happy with the black painted rear rotors' "hats."
