You're not helping my situation .
I want these wheels bad and our minis are identical but I can't decide on to get black or silver. I love the way that the silver look but I am afraid of some of the issues that have been seen in this thread with them. The Grey and black seem to hold up pretty good but I have never had a set of black wheels before and I am kind of unsure about it. I feel like my ocd would freak out at the difference in blacks between the trim, tires and rims.

LOL. I know your pain!
The wheels are awesome. They are 17" and thus far the Silver is holding up good. If I had to do it over again, I'd go for the Matte Gray for a more aggressive look.
But there is just something special about the silver wheels, aggressive yet classic looking.
Okay, I take it back. I'd do silver again. =)

I agree that the silver looks great on our cars; the contrast alone is what sets it off imo. But the black looks so nice and mean and ties everything together.
I'm starting to lean toward silver just because I elected for that color when I bought the car instead of getting black wheels. It just looks right. I think if the trim around the bottom was painted body color it would be a different story.
EDIT: Not to mention (and I mean no offense by this) around Boston I feel there is a certain boy racer look that is associated with black rims that I might want to steer clear of.

Agreed, if the trim was the body color, I would have gone with a different color for sure. Good observation there.
I can attest to the power of the Silver Breytons....everywhere I go where folks compliment the MINI, they are complimenting the wheels so much more. "Nice wheels" and "Where did you get those?" and "Those wheels look awesome on you MINI!"
Yes, those are actual quotes from random folks I come across wherever I go.
Good luck!

I'm on tirerack right now going back and fourth between black and silver. I have even been photo shopping cars to see what they would look like on mine.

Now... to get either springs or full coilovers to stance it just right.
