Highly considering these for my 2006 Cooper S on stock suspension. I have read all 18 pages, and still have this question. If I go 17x7 et40, and a 205/45r17 tire (just switching off my current rubber for the time being), where will my wheel be in terms of flush to the outside?
I have the 17" bright silver and they hold up well. Mind you I don't use them during the winter. Regarding how flush the wheel to the fender, it is still too cold here to put the Breyton back on , otherwise, I will take some photo to show you.

Anyone have any issues with bent wheels after hitting potholes? I've had two bent ones in the past few months. Granted, these were potholes at highway speed but....the first time I got it repaired but I still have one that is bent but I am dealing with it for now as I can only feel it at certain speeds. BTW I have 205 40 18 Michelin A/S3 tires so even the slightly higher sidewall didn't help.

Potholes suck. I usually buy wheels.that go through a TUV certification or from a company that follows TUV certification procedures. These wheels are usually more expensive although stronger and better manufactured.

Are your wheels that keep breaking mini wheels or aftermarket?

Happened to me with my Breytons (1 wheel) on my previous MINI. Highway speed and a nasty pothole. I think it would have done the same to my OEM wheels too.

Got mine on now!

I'll update here if there are any issues after driving on the Massachusetts roads all summer.

Ya know even though I slammed my r56 mini and thru on 18 " breyton with H@R premium coilovers, it still rides better then those crappie run flats minis come with.

Do any of you have rubbing issues on 18's? I have the h&r springs and don't know what tire sizes to go with. I have some 17" ssr wheels with these tire sizes 215/45r17 and the rear rubs on big bumps.

205/40/18 for me, stock suspension and height right now, and zero rubbing anywhere.

215/35 will also fit with no issues. It's short enough in diameter not to rub.

215/35/18. No rubbing! I'm running Cross coil overs dropped about 2/1.5 inches!
