I apologize in advance for the terrible iphone pictures, they really do not do these wheels any justice.

Oh no you didnt!!!!

J/K I completely agree. I am working on getting a set of H&R street coil overs. Hopefully the gap will be taken care of shortly.

Thanks, and sorry for the questions.
They're 7" wide, not 7.5"

I didn't weight them but it looks like someone else gave you that answer haha

Just ordered some today. Still trying to decide on what size tires. Would like some sidewall between me and the road but understand that's not much of an option when you run 18's on this car. So I will chose between 205/40/18 or 225/35/18. It will probably be the later, but I need to search through the wheel thread to find out what a 205/40/18 looks like on this car.

Thanks for the post above.

Take a look at my photos, the 205/40 sits at roughly 24.4" my 205/35 sits at 23.6 so your looking at ~.4" taller ride height and ~4" less wheel gap than my setup.

Thanks Johnbarleycorn It's hard to see the tires because the blackrims, but your sidewalls look pretty thin. Our streets are decent here in dallas, but that might be pushing it. At least I know what a 205/35 looks like. Thanks!

If you want to maximize your sidewall the 205/40 is the way to go. have you though about what tire you want? Are you leaning toward a performance tire or an all season?

performance. I have a toyota corolla as a daily drive, but would still like the mini to be a nice ride. I am wondering if a 205/40 will look kind of poser on it though? I like the wide tire look.

emm there's a thread about tire weights somewhere on here as a sticky. I am going to look at some of those and determine what brand from there. Tires are the one thing I get super cheap, so i'll lean towards performance tires. That being said I don't have to have like michelin pilot sports or something. I had sumitomo htzr's on my is350 and loved those. They replaced my toyo proxies and I personally though the sumitomos' gripped better. Kind of poser tire, but I felt as if they were better than the toyo.s

I think a 205/40 will look fine if you lower it, as was called out on me above the wheel gap on an R56 is pretty bad. A 215/40 might not be a bad way to go. That is right around 24.7" so it will be a little bit taller than stock, have a wider footprint and fill the gap better. Have you considered teh Hankook Ventus 12's or the Toyo T1R's?

Same setup as me! I went with the silver ones though. The Yokohama tires are amazing.

Breyton 17" GTS-R on a 2010 MCS

Hey guys....been following the thread for a while now. My wife and I JUST picked up her new 2010 MCS and she elected to put Breyton 17" GTS-Rs on her. I think she made a great choice.
Hope this additional picture adds to the forum!

looks good ^^^^ .

I have mine on now with the same size setup as you. I need to lower my car first before I post pics though because the wheel gap is just insane.

17's Black, getting mounted on Monday. Haven't seen many 17" GTS-R Mini's in this thread.

Decided to go with the 17's because I really like how my car sits right now with 17 web spokes + lowering springs. If the tires were any closer , I wouldn't be able to drive on Hawaii roads.

Ordered from Tire Rack, to Hawaii, and shipping was very affordable and quick. Thanks Alex.

Here is a nice set of silver ones in 17"....

Not my MINI, it's MandB's, but a sweet one I'd like to have.

Man, that car would really sharp with the drop that H&R sport springs provide the R56! Wish H&R would have got the drop right on for the R50/R53

RJ,

Thanks for the compliment! Hey! I WISH I could convince my wife on the "drop". Thanks, Crashton, for posting a link from our SONIC meet.
I suppose once I pull the trigger on my own, I can do the drop but for now, I have to just hope the woman in charge lets me drive hers! :>
As each day passes, I become less attached to my 07 VW Rabbit....(6th VW as well)....

Any suggested selling points on the H&R process? From what I hear, it's a fairly easy mod and one which won't impact warranty....
