OK all.. FINALLY I think I am ready to pick these wheels up from the refinisher. I had them PAINTED using the correct MINI White Wheel Code and had the center cap painted black since you get silver with your order.
JCW cars have to order 18s as we know and I was able to get the 5mm spacers from Turner Motorsports.. Not sure if I am allowed to say that but thought it may be helpful. They are hub-centric.

I will post pics up on Thurs when I finally get them on.

Is there anyone with a dark silver Mini that has the grey Breyton wheels? If so could you please post any pictures you might have. I am consered that the Breyton grey might be close enough to the dark silver that it looks like you were trying to match and missed but it may be enough different that the contrast of grey's will look good. BTW I have a set of black wheels OZ Alleggerita's and I do not like the black color wheels on my Mini and I also have silver OEM challenge wheels that I like better but are too heavy.

Where did you get the bolts?? What color were they?
Do you have a JCW? Apparently they have a different thread pattern so I am told? If true does anyone know where I can get longer bolts?

Hey Octane-

Here are a few examples that should get you close. The first two are matte grey Breytons, and the last three are for color only.

Here is the link Alex sent me. I got the 5mm spacers and these bolts.

Mini Cooper 5mm Spacer Lug Bolts

I would love to find them in black, but they are silver at the moment. May take them off and spray paint them for now.

BlueToy, what did you do to lower yours? I was looking at the H&R Springs. Is that all I need to drop mine a little? What other issues will I run into if I do that versus just leaving it stock?

Ok thank you very much! I see these are for a Cooper S or Cooper and if I am not mistaken there is a different pattern for factory JCW cars. I will call Alex to verify tomorrow if I need them or not. I sure hope not because I am supposed to pick up my freshly white painted GTS-R wheels tomorrow.

Yeah, I went with 18" breytons and 205/40R18 Yokohama S Drives and he told me I needed the 5mm spacers.

Yep same here.. I have a private message and a thread question for a guy that has the WC50 and put 18s on. He is on this thread too I believe. Hopefully he will see this and be able to respond and let me know if for our set up he needed longer bolts. I have the spacers sitting in the dining room ready to go tomorrow.

I just put some 17" GTS-R's on my 2011 MCS PW. Man what a difference. They look awesome. I went with 215/45/r17 s-drives.

I have a set of NM Engineering springs right now and I am deciding if I should put them on. I am not worried about dropping it, but I am worried about rubbing if I put people in the back seat. Although there is about 2" space from the wheel to the top of the wheel well, as the rear wheel well tapers down to the bumper it crosses the tire. My concern is with rubbing across the tire in this area. Anyone running 215/45/17's with a spring drop that can comment? I'll get some pics up tomorrow.

I got the lugs in black from TurnerMotorsports.

I'm on KW V2's-TSW. Purchased from WMW. I'm not sure how much drop you will get with the H&R springs. The GTS-R are ET40, and I'm running a 5mm spacer with the 215 tire. I trimmed the front arches a little, simple job.

I'm on 205's with the 17" breytons with the nm lowering springs, not even close to rubbing. 1.5" clearance on the the front I believe, still lots of room.

Hey Aaron,

Are you running any spacers? With the 205's, it seems you could run at least 5mm..

Are there any problems that come up because of spacers? Also, are you guys putting the bracket on the strut towers to avoid mushrooming? I see them on all the sites, just wondering if they are really needed.

I've had no issues with spacers. I think you should run something to reinforce the strut towers, I think it is a definite weak area. The Mini just doesn't have that much suspension travel and they get hammered.

Blue Toy,

Thanks for the pictures of the mat grey Breytons on a dark silver Mini. Can you tell me if the mat grey finish requires any special effort to clean the brake dust off. I am thinking that a mat finish might not be as smooth as a bright or glossy finish and want to hold or get the brake dust imbeded into a non smooth finish. Please let us know your experince with this wheel finish.

Blue Toy,

Are those 18"s in the picture of the dark silver Mini with the mat grey Breytons you posted?

205's were the RF's that came off the original wheels, I swapped my wheels out in the first thousand miles.

What's funny is that I've put the 5mm H&R spacers in my shopping cart more than a dozen times but just couldn't justify going through. Spacers + Longer bolts would come out to $150+ with shipping.

Right now they're sitting at ET40, and look pretty good imo. New tires are on the horizon soon, and I'll prob go with 215's and go from there if I still want spacers.

No problem on the pics The matte grey finish is great, because it really doesn't show the brake dust. You have to wipe the wheel with a rag to know it's there. The finish is easy to clean, I have used both wheel cleaner and car shampoo both with good effect. I have a soft wheel brush that helps get between the spokes. What is really cool about the grey finish is it's subtle reflectance. If they are not in direct light, they tend to look darker. When in sunlight, you pick up a very subtle silver coming through. I really like it.

I got that pic off M/U. Not sure who owns it. If I had to guess, I would say 18's, because that is an R56, and the wheel well is slightly larger.

Thanks, I really need to get better pics this weekend. This picture doesn't even kind of do them justice.

Anyone know why I might be getting inactive TPMS warning now that I put the new tires on? Got them from TireRack with the TPMS sensors.

Quick Reply: Anyone on Breyton GTS-R yet?
