MCc with 17" wheels ride comfort

Hey guys can any mcc owners that have changed from 15" to 17" wheels tell me how much change there is in ride comfort ?

As im looking to upgrade my wheels but after reading so many posts about people going to a smaller wheels & lighter wheels but i cant find any posts about people going from 15 to 17. my mcc is stock std (no sport sup. non RF tyres) looking at going from a 6.7kg wheel with 175/65r15 conti contact 3 tyres to a 7.5kg wheel with 205/45r17 b'stone potenza.

I understand what i call a uncomfortable ride could be ok or even a soft ride for some so i would just like to know how much difference there is in ride comfort and if anyone is sorry after making the upgrade!

Each inch is ususaly good for 10/15% firmer ride. Somewhere from 20-30% firmer. Being H speed rated to V speed rated, I'd say 25% firmer

I have used 15" to 17" wheels in various widths and tire sizes for daily use.

Comfort will depend more on the tire size you choose and the exact tire.

Your suspension is fine but you are changing from a very tall 65 series sidewall that flexes a lot to a much stiffer 45 series sidewall.

Assuming you want a 17x7" rim which is fine then you have options for tire sizes like-

205/45-17
215/45-17

For an mcc you can consider all season tires.

In Ultra HP All Season (with comfort and street manners in mind)
205/45-17
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus
500 treadwear $185 each
Note- Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season- has stiff sidewalls, rides firm

215/45-17
Pirelli PZero Nero M&S (not as good for wet weather but comfortable)
400 treadwear $132 each

Summer tires will handle better but there can be a little less comfort and a little more noise. They tend to wear faster. Summer tires don't do well in very cold temperature weather.

On a budget
205/45-17
High Perf All Season tire
Bridgestone Potenza G 019 Grid
400 treadwear $103 each
