Wheel offset fitment question

Wheel offset fitment question
2007 MCS
I'm looking at some 17x7 wheels with a ET of 48. Theses wheels will need adapters. I'm trying to figure out what thickness the adapters can be.
For example if I use a 32mm thick adapter I will have a total ET of only 16 and I don't think that will work without fender friction.
So how thin will the adapters need to be to avoid the dreaded fender friction.
BTW... I would like to run 205/40/17 front 215/40/17 rear with some lowering springs to get a nice stance.
Thanks,
Jeff

Depends on how much lower you plan to go?
I had slight rubbing in the rear with 17x7 ET38 wheels and 215/40 tires with H&R springs. Thus, 10mm spacers would probably be just about right for your 48mm offset wheels. The problem is that 10mm is not a standard size spacer due to the hub snub used to center the wheel.
