Light 15x6.5 Wheels

Hey Folks,

This is my first post--my Oxygen Blue Cooper is about to get on a boat soon!

I like a tire with some sidewall, but wouldn't mind something a little wider. I think I am going to go with 195/60-15s after I eat up the first set of tires (the diameter is just 1% undersized compared to stock).

Question 1--I am guessing that I am looking for a 15x6.5, yes? What are the pros and cons of a 6.5" width compared to a 7" for a 195/60 tire?

Question 2--What light wheels that come in a 15x6.5 4x100 +45 size? I'd love to order some new Volk TE37s, but I'd also like to spend less than $400 each. I can't abide by getting a wheel that is heavier than the 12.7 pound stock wheel. I like the O.Z. Alleggerrita, but don't see it in that size. And I don't want something with the wrong offset. Bonus points for white!

Question 3--what about center cap diameter? Are there known issues that might make any given 4x100 +45 incompatible with my car?

Question 4--Any favorite wheel sources you can point me to for 15 inchers? The Tire Rack doesn't seem to want to let you search by size.

Thanks everyone!
Chris

Are you comparing the 195/60 to a 16" stock tire? My 15" stock tires were 175/65 and changing them to 195/60 the diameter went from 24" to 24.2".

6.5's would offer more tire overhang, protecting the wheels during paralell parking.

7's will strech the 195's a bit tighter, and offer better cornering

Alleggerrita is only offered in 17 and 18's currently.

Only certain wheels will take the mini center cap. Thos that can't usually supply thier own manufacture's logo-ed cap.

Wheels are case by case evaluation, due to their specific design.

We do have the 15's available, you need to use the Winter package search to find them.

Build 15 or 16 inch packages - click skip to wheels upper right corner .

Get in touch with me when its time to order or if I can anwser any other questions.

I'd look at some Konig Heliums in 15x6.5 size...offset is +43 I believe.

Buddy Club P1. I got mine used. Rim alone is 12 lbs, almost 13 with lug bolts. 6.5" +42 offset.

Super strong and they look great. Best price -- $127 each new!

They come in white as well!

Nice--I like the look of the Heliums. I did find this though;

A couple people on there claim to have "heard horror stories" about heliums. Sure look nice though.

The Buddy Club wheels are also good looking. Do you have the SF or the QF? The QF are forged and "ultralight"--sounds interesting.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on this.

I wonder what the bolt hole width is on those (14mm or 12mm).

Probably only 12mm.

Even if they are 12mm, all you need is a 14mm drill bit and an electric drill to make them fit.

I have the SF's. One QF is the price of 3 SF's!!!

The SF is light enough as it is, for a street vehicle at least.
