Need help deciding on this tire/wheel package.
I'm going to buy some new tires for my stock 17's on my 07 MCS in the next day or so. I walked into a Discount Tire and they have the tires I was going to buy Kumho AST 215/45 17's in stock, I'm on a budget!
Anyway, they had a set of wheels/tires they are clearancing out,
League WKR-1 wheels, black with red stripe around the lip wrapped in Yokohama Advan S-4 Tires, 215/45 17 also.
New, guess previous owner backed out.
Anyway, they will sell these for around $600 for the set of tires/wheels.
Will these work with my TPMS sensors? I have the older versions where it is part of the ABS system, not in the valves.
Also, will I need hubcentric rings? They are a 40mm offset as well. Not sure what to do. The wheels look good and my stock wheels are curbed on all 4 from the previous owner.
by the way, they were $1400 for everything, marked down to $900, now to $600.
Any suggestions?

Sounds like a great deal, nice wheels by the way.
Also good tires if you want all seasons.
Don't know about the TPMS, I thought all 07 has the valve type. If it is the same as the R53 system it will not be a problem.
For the rings, just ask them to throw the rings in with the deal. Not much for Discount Tire.
However, have them test fit to make sure the off-set clears everything. They should be able to bolt the wheels up and spin the wheel while the car is in the air.

You don't have TPMS, you have FTM. Any wheels/tires will work. You just have to reset the system when the new tires are installed and drive long enough for it to register the revs. You should reset it every time you change air pressure.
I recommend aluminium center rings. I have a set of wheels that the mfg. swore were "lug centric" (no rings required). They would develop vibrations after a few hundred miles. I installed aluminium rings from Discount Tire Direct, and the vibrations are gone.
I believe that the OEM 17x7 wheels have a 48mm offset. You don't say whether these are 17x7 or 17x7.5. That would make a difference. Just make them promise that you can return them if they rub.

They are better than most but you need to let the installer see you watching because some are good and some are average. If they see you watching they are generally more careful not to damage your wheels. I just stand outside the bay and watch the whole time.

This is what I have. Haven't needed to use it yet. I probably need to replace the cannister before it goes out of date.
