New Source for Spare Tire "Bags"

After owning my 08 MCS for a year and a half and doing much research in this forum I FINALLY replaced the RFs with some Michelin Pilot Exaltos and it is great.

Terrific handling and firm ride but not a jarring ride - it's great. I found a "correct" MINI temporary spare - never used - at a scrap yard for $65 and I was all set.

Of course, there was no longer any place to buy a tire bag to put the spare in. I tried strapping it in the "boot" but that wasn't convenient. A neighbor with excellent seamstress skills offered to design and make a tire bag so now I store my spare behind the MINI passenger seat. Works like a dream, just as I've read in this forum.

I am trying to encourage her to make the tire bags available to others, if there is interest and she is considering it. if any of you out there are interested in getting a bag for your MINI temporary spare let me know. If there is interest I'll get her to setup an email address for this.

I'd be up for one, assuming the design & price are within reason.

me too

I keep my mini-spare laying flat in the back with the seats down. I had a nice rubber rear cargo mat from the vette that I custom-fit, so it doesn't slide around any. Right now, I have the tire covered with a black towel, tucked in under the tire.

Fignewton - sounds like you've created a projectile-in-the-making if you ever have to stop fast, or God forbid, crash into something. Might want to look at some way of strapping that sucker down.
