I love my Star Specs, they're perfect to me. Which Potenzas are you talking about? The RE-11's? I'd probably get which ever was cheaper, they both look good to me.

I think they are pretty much equivalent on the street. On the track, I find the Dunlops do grease up with temperature after about 15-18 minutes. Then the real fun begins with 4 wheel drifts etc. They also will chunk and tear if you overheat them over too many heat cycles. I am on my third set this year so I do have a little experience with them. And I still really like them and will use them primarily in the wet next year.

Friends with RE-11s also report similar problems but I do not have first hand experience with them.

I have heard that the Yokos AD08s are also good.
